Honey
Hawaiian Date Loaf 1/4
cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup honey
1 egg
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 14-oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup dates, chopped Heat
oven to 325oF. Grease (not oil) bottom only of a 9 x 5
in. pan. Cream butter or margarine and honey together. Add egg and
beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking
soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with drained pineapple.
Mix well. Fold in vanilla and dates Pour
into prepared pan. Bake at 325oF for 1 hour or until a
toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes.
Remove from pan to rack. Cool completely. |
